Martha "Vega" Hero is a community leader, educator, and social services administrator with more than 20 years serving South Dade.
As President and CEO of National Community Services Inc., she leads programs in adult education, ESOL, citizenship preparation, workforce development, and financial literacy — plus after-school programs, summer camps, and food distribution for working families.
She has built partnerships with local government, school districts, universities, and community organizations — because progress isn't promised. It's earned.
Every resident deserves to feel safe — on our streets, in our neighborhoods, and in their homes. Safety is the foundation of a strong community, and it is not optional.
South Dade commutes are too long. We need practical solutions — and every infrastructure dollar used efficiently, transparently, and for its intended purpose.
Families are feeling the strain of rising costs. A county budget managed responsibly means cutting waste, delivering property tax relief for seniors, and lowering the burden on residents.
South Dade deserves growth and opportunity. Support local businesses and streamline permitting — no entrepreneur should wait two years to open their doors.
